OUR LOCATION
Frontier Camp is located in East Texas, approximately two and a half hours from both Houston and Dallas, on the north shore of beautiful Houston County Lake, west of Grapeland and Crockett. Our physical address is 131 Frontier Camp Rd. Grapeland, TX 75844.

From Houston (2.5 hours) take I-45 north and exit Hwy 19, south of Huntsville. Follow 19 to Loop 304 in Crockett. Turn left on Loop 304, go 2.5 miles, and turn left on FM 229 toward Houston County Lake. Follow 229 for 11 miles. Watch for Frontier Camp signs pointing to right. Turn right and go a quarter or half mile to the appropriate camp entrance. During summer camp, Teen Campers enter through the first gate (labeled “Fossil Creek Camp”) and Junior Campers enter through the second gate.

From Dallas (2.5 hours) take IH 45 South out of Dallas. Exit US 287 at Corsicana. Travel Southeast to Palestine. Continue on what is now 19/287 south to Grapeland. Exit Business 19/287 at Grapeland and turn right over the railroad tracks onto FM 227. Take 227 west out of Grapeland about 8 miles to where it veers sharply to the right. Go straight (now on Hwy 2544) for 1 mile. Turn left on Hwy 229; watch for Frontier Camp signs. Go 1 and 1/2 miles to a Frontier Camp sign pointing to the left. Turn left and go a quarter or half mile to the appropriate camp entrance. During summer camp, Teen Campers enter through the first gate (labeled “Fossil Creek Camp”) and Junior Campers enter through the second gate.
From Bryan/College Station (1.5 hours)—Travel east on Hwy 21 out of Bryan until you come to Crockett. Take a left of Loop 304 in Crockett. Travel ½ mile and take a left on FM 229. Follow FM 229 for 11 miles and watch for Frontier Camp and County Road 2195 signs pointing to the right. Turn right and go a quarter or half mile to the appropriate camp entrance. During summer camp, Teen Campers enter through the first gate (labeled “Fossil Creek Camp”) and Junior Campers enter through the second gate.

From Waco (2 hours)—Hwy. 6 south and exit Hwy 7 at Marlin. Travel east on Hwy. 7 until you come to Crockett. Take a left of Loop 304 in Crockett. Travel ½ mile and take a left on FM 229. Follow FM 229 for 11 miles and watch for Frontier Camp and County Road 2195 signs pointing to the right. Turn right and go a quarter or half mile to the appropriate camp entrance. During summer camp, Teen Campers enter through the first gate (labeled “Fossil Creek Camp”) and Junior Campers enter through the second gate.

From Austin (3 hours) take IH-35 N, exit onto Hwy 79 East. At Marquez, turn right on Hwy. 7. Follow Hwy 7 to Loop 304 in Crockett and turn left. Travel ½ mile and take a left on FM 229. Follow FM 229 for 11 miles and watch for Frontier Camp and County Road 2195 signs pointing to the right. Turn right and go a quarter or half mile to the appropriate camp entrance. During summer camp, Teen Campers enter through the first gate (labeled “Fossil Creek Camp”) and Junior Campers enter through the second gate.

From Tyler (1.5 hours) take Hwy 155 to Palestine, left on Loop 256, left on Hwy 19/287 and travel approx 24 miles. Exit Business 19/287 at Grapeland and turn right over the railroad tracks onto FM 227.  Take 227 west out of Grapeland about 8 miles to where it veers sharply to the right.
