Dear friends and supporters,
Our team of 7 met this morning at 5:30 to depart for Hobby Airport. We were thankful we gave ourselves plenty of time, as we had one surprise at check in. We discovered we needed notarized permission for a minor to enter Belize with only one parent. We are thankful for family and friends in our small town who acted quickly to make that happen, and we made our flight with lots of time to spare. The rest of today’s logistics went flawlessly, including a beautiful day to fly, safe travel from the airport in Belize City to Samuel’s Sanctuary on well-maintained roads and very little traffic. Samuel’s Sanctuary is situated off Hummingbird Highway, and it truly is a beautiful sanctuary hosted by lovely believers. We passed several Tapir Crossing signs on the way and were welcomed by a toucan when we stepped out of the van. We enjoyed a delicious meal, including homemade ice cream from the Country Barn, a nationally famous dairy that happens to be part of Samuel’s Sanctuary’s ministry! After dinner, we met with our hosts to plan out a week packed with activity. While we meet folks in the village tomorrow to invite children to participate in the fun, we hope to also scout any eye problems we can photograph and record for the medical team coming in next week. Thank you for praying for us and for supporting us. We will keep you posted nightly with more details of the opportunities God gives us each day to serve His children and their families here in Belize. We are SUPER excited! With hearts filled with gratitude,
Belize Team 1
